Fahrenheit 451

Ray Bradbury

All books have been banned.  It is the job of Guy Montag and firemen like him to burn any books they find.  Anyone who tries to keep books hidden is considered a dissident.

Meanwhile the general population  are bombarded with shallow pointless media via TV and earplugs which they wear continuously.  Compulsory drugging is used to keep the population compliant.

But Guy is unhappy and finds himself questioning society and his place in it.

Often compared to George Orwell’s 1984, this is a true classic that seems at least as relevant now as it did in 1953.
