The-Time-Machine-H-G-Wells

Adapted from a short story The Chronic Argonauts written by the same author in 1888.

In the late 19th century the world is alive with possibility.  Science and invention are beginning to free humanity from the suffering and ignorance of the past.

One inventor has discovered the key to the fourth dimension and has built a time machine in his private laboratory.  After announcing his discovery to his skeptical friends, he sets off on a journey into the future.

From the seat of his machine he watches the history of mankind play out before his eyes.  Finally he stops in the year 802,701 where he discovers an idyllic world where even nature has been tamed by man.

But all is not as it seems.

In 1995 an authorized sequel The Time Ships was written by Stephen Baxter.
